Terms and Conditions

  • All dogs must be wearing a current and up to date ID tag and be microchipped (both legal requirements)

  • You are responsible for your own dog at all times while training with The Canine Place.

  • Please don't approach any other dogs during training unless instructed by the trainer

  • We are insured with Pet Plan sanctuary but recommend all clients have relevant insurance in place in the unlikely event of damage or injury caused by their dog to property or to a third party.

  • Any activity that involves dogs may mean there are risks to you or your dog. At The Canine Place we will do everything in our power to minimise risks but all clients need to follow instructions and be responsible for their own dog at all times.

  • The Canine Place will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries caused during any of our training services. Dogs are living creatures and this means that we are unable to prevent every eventuality.

  • If your dog has had any history of aggression towards people or other dogs please inform us in advance so we can keep everyone safe.

  • Training plans or guidance on training we give is not guaranteed. We aim to be clear and supportive but if the practice and communication between trainer and client is lacking the training won't work. Always ask if things aren't going to plan.

  • We recommend that you always ask your vet for health advice

  • Any advice we give on products is based on our own research or personal experiences and we recommend that you do your own research before purchasing anything we recommend. Always ask your vet if you are unsure.

  • If your dogs health or behaviour changes at all please notify us in advance of any sessions.

  • If you have any health problems that may prevent you from fully participating in the training please inform us in advance, we will assume you are fit and healthy unless we are told differently.

  • If your female dog is showing signs she might be in season please contact us to see if we need to adapt the training. We won't accept bitches in season in group training but will work with you to provide an alternative solution.

  • We reserve the right to cancel any session if we feel the dogs may be uncomfortable (This includes extremes in weather conditions such as high temperatures or heavy rain) We want everyone to enjoy the sessions! If we cancel for any reason we will rearrange the session for as soon as possible.

  • Training walks without the owner are done at the trainers discretion. If we arrive and are concerned about the dogs behaviour, health or how comfortable they will be in the weather conditions we reserve the right to refuse to walk. If appropriate we will make sure the dog has had the opportunity to go to the toilet, has some interaction at home and are left comfortable. We will inform you of this by phone if you are not at home.

  • If attending training classes please be respectful of our venues and clean up any accidents immediately, this includes outside the venue and surrounding areas. The venues host children classes too so cleanliness and hygiene is important

  • If you do arrive late please just enter quietly and we will aim to catch you up when it is appropriate

  • If you can't attend a class please let us know in advance

  • All dogs must be given the opportunity to toilet before entering the venue, you may be directed to appropriate areas for this.
